WA - UPCOMING ILS WEEKEND RAIL CLOSURE | Dear Valued Clients, Please be advised that the PTA has confirmed the closure of the Fremantle Rail Bridge for an additional two weekends. During these periods, no train services will operate in or out of NQRT at the following times: - Friday, 28th November PM to Sunday, 30th November, with operations resuming on the morning of Monday, 1st December.
- Friday, 12th December PM to Sunday, 14th December, with operations resuming on Monday, 15th December.
Please note: Loch M. Fraser will not accept liability for detention charges arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control. It is imperative that you communicate this position to your clients to ensure they understand our stance and can make alternative arrangements accordingly. What this means for our Operations and your Deliveries - Longer port-to-destination transit times (Meaning extended free time on containers is critical)
- Fewer viable route options during business hours (Meaning this will result in delayed deliveries)
- Delayed Deliveries (Requesting Customers to be flexible on receiving times to assist)
- Delayed empty container dehires (Requesting Customers to be flexible on opening and closing times to assist, actively advising same day empty collections are not an option)
- It's a necessity to start discussing NOW with your clients on the delays that are expected to occur. (If containers have 7 or less free days this could/will be detrimental and will result in container detention that Arrow will not be held liable for.)
Next Steps - Begin free time negotiations with your shipping lines NOW any containers with less than 10 Free days is simply not going to be enough free time to compensate potential delays.
- Update our customer service team of any extension of hours of operation for each client site. The more ability we have to access the sites after hours the bigger window we have to deliver the container and collect any empties
- Continue to utilise the Portal for live shipment visibility
