We would like to advise you of the current volatility in global fuel markets resulting from the escalating situation in the Middle East. This instability has led to a significant increase in the wholesale price of diesel fuel across Australia.
As fuel is a major operating cost within our transport network, these rising prices will impact the fuel levy applied to your services. Throughout the month of March, we will be closely monitoring fuel prices and assessing the need for any adjustments to the fuel levy applied on transport services.
Due to the unpredictability of current market conditions, there may be circumstances where a fuel levy increase must be applied without a notice period. While we will always aim to communicate changes as early as possible, the pace of current fuel price fluctuations may require immediate implementation.
From 1st to 6th March alone, the AIP has wholesale diesel fuel prices increasing by approximately 7%, while the actual BUY price of diesel fuel for transporters has increased by 26% this week alone, thus highlighting the rapid and unpredictable nature of current market conditions.
We remain committed to transparency and to maintaining reliable, cost-effective service for all our customers during this period of uncertainty. If you have any questions, our team is available to assist.
