Dear Valued Customer,
Average diesel prices remain volatile due to ongoing conflict in the Middle East. As a result, we will continue to review and update our Fuel Levy on a weekly basis until fuel prices stabilise.
While we are beginning to see the impact of the Government's temporary 50% reduction in fuel excise, global oil market volatility continues to place upward pressure on diesel pricing.
The Terminal Gate Price (TGP) for diesel has reduced in recent days, from a national average of 326.80 cpl on Thursday 9 April to 263.5 cpl on Friday 17 April 2026.
In addition, the Government has temporarily suspended the Heavy Vehicle Road User Charge (RUC) for a three-month period. During this suspension, LMF will deduct 32.4 cents per litre from the TGP used in our fuel adjustment calculation. This measure is currently scheduled to conclude on 30 June 2026.
With the above adjustments in place, the LMF Levy will be reduced as follows, effective Sunday 26 April 2026:
Fuel represents a significant component of container transport operating costs. To ensure we can continue providing safe, reliable, and sustainable transport services, adjustments to our Fuel Levy are necessary.
Given the rapidly changing fuel market, LMF will now review the Fuel Levy on a weekly basis rather than monthly. Updates will be issued each Wednesday, with the revised levy taking effect from the following Sunday. The current Fuel Levy can be viewed at any time via your Customer Login Portal.
We understand that changes of this nature can be challenging, and we sincerely appreciate your continued understanding and support during this period of uncertainty.
