NOTIFICATION – NEW HEAVY WEIGHT SURCHARGES & SIDELOADER WAIT CHARGES
Dear Valued Client,
As part of our mid-year operational review, our Western Australian cartage provider has assessed the increasing costs associated with transporting overweight containers and managing sideloader deliveries that require extended on-site waiting times.
Following this review, we will be implementing changes to our charging structure to better reflect the additional resources and operational requirements involved.
Containers with a gross weight exceeding 30.00 tonnes will now fall outside our existing Heavy Container Surcharge structure. New surcharge categories will apply based on the container's gross weight.
The revised weight categories are outlined below:
| WA – Sideloader Assist | |
|---|---|
| 27.00T – 30.00T Gross | Sideloader Assist |
| 30.01T – 31.50T Gross | Sideloader Assist |
| 31.51T – 32.00T Gross | Sideloader Assist |
| 32.00T+ Gross | Excess Sideloader (POA) |
| WA – Excess Skel | |
|---|---|
| 27.00T – 29.50T Gross | Excess Skel |
| 29.51T – 31.50T Gross | Excess Skel |
| 32.00T+ Gross | Excess Skel (POA) |
POA – Price on Application.
For deliveries where a sideloader is required to remain on-site while the container is unloaded, an increased detention charge will apply to reflect the additional time, equipment, and operational resources required.
The Sideloader Wait Surcharge has also been reviewed and will now apply across Queensland, New South Wales, and Western Australia.
These changes will come into effect from Monday, 3 August 2026.
