SHIPPING UPDATE – TYPHOON DOLPHIN DISRUPTIONS IN CHINA

Unfortunately, China has been impacted by another major weather event, Typhoon Dolphin, causing significant disruption across several regions.

We have been advised that Zhejiang Province, Shanghai, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Anhui, Jiangsu, Ningbo, Hangzhou and Taizhou are among the areas impacted by the typhoon, with extremely high winds and torrential rainfall reported. More than one million people have reportedly been evacuated from affected areas.

Current transport and logistics disruptions include:

• Shanghai and Ningbo ports – operations suspended until further notice.
• Ningbo Airport – operations have ceased.
• Shanghai Airport – significant operational disruptions and flight suspensions have been reported.

The full impact on shipping and logistics operations is not yet known. However, early indications suggest delays could be in the vicinity of 5–10 days.

These disruptions come on top of the existing congestion and delays affecting freight movements out of China following Typhoon Bavi, which may result in further pressure on vessel schedules, port operations and cargo movements.

We recommend allowing additional lead time for any current or upcoming shipments from the affected regions.
