Brisbane weather: Flood warning for South East Queensland

The weather bureau is warning residents in Queensland's south-east to brace for potential flooding, with heavy rainfall tipped for the next two days.

Coastal areas to Brisbane's north and south have already received steady falls in the past 24 hours and the Bureau of Meteorology is warning that some areas could be in for a drenching.

Meteorologist Amber Young said the entire south-east could expect at least 50 millimetres of rain throughout Thursday and Friday and into Saturday, though some areas should prepare for as much as 400 millimetres.
