PROTECTED INDUSTRIAL ACTION AT DP WORLD AUSTRALIA

  • Protected Industrial Action at DP World Australia

Dear Customers,

Since our previous advice on 14 July, DP World Australia have been unable to reach agreement with the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA), who have given notice to DP World Australia (DPWA) of further Protected Industrial Action (PIA) at DPWA Terminals.

The effect of the bans varies across terminals and advised PIA includes work stoppages, limited various bans on employees working in tasks above their normal grade, overtime, shift extensions, accepting late call-ins, and ceasing advanced or delayed start times. 

The latest update of the Action and how it may impact you are detailed below.

 

As of Tuesday 28 July 2020

BRISBANE

  • Since 21 July, work stoppage for 1 hour per shift, at 06:00, 14:00 and 22:00 every day

  • Vessel operations and non-automated yard operations will be stopped during these hours

  • Landside receival and delivery operations to the automated modules will continue as normal

  • Work restrictions

SYDNEY

  • From 4 August to 1 September, work stoppage for 1 hour per shift, at 05:00, 13:00, and 21:00 every day  

  • All terminal operations will be stopped during these hours

  • Work restrictions

MELBOURNE

  • Since 21 July, work stoppage for 2 hours, at 05:00, 13:00, and 21:00 every day

  • All terminal operations will be stopped during these hours

  • Work restrictions

FREMANTLE

  • Since 18 July, work stoppage for 1 hour per shift, at 01:30, 09:30 and 17:45 every day

  • On 31 July, work stoppage for 2 hours, commencing 13:00

  • On 2 August, work stoppage for 4 hours, commencing 22:00

  • On 3 August, work stoppage for 4 hours, commencing 05:00

  • From 3 August, work stoppage twice per shift for 1 hour, at 01:30, 05:00, 09:30, 13:00, 17:45 and 21:00 every day

  • All terminal operations will be stopped during these hours

  • Work restrictions
